A look at thedrawing process for "
."
A look at Jesús Morón's process: building shadows, controlling light, materials, and the progressive development of the drawing.
GRAPHITE · CHARCOAL
swith light.
Volume emerges gradually through tonal transitions, contrast, and control of the light areas. Light is as much a part of the drawing as the dark areas.
WORK IN PROGRESS · DETAIL
Building-
to the image.
The drawing is built up in layers. Each step alters the relationship between texture, depth, and light before reaching the final result.
DEPTH · CONTRAST
From tone
to volume.
Slight variations in tone transform a flat surface into a three-dimensional form. This process allows us to see how detail emerges without losing the overall structure of the image.
The finished drawing is just the final stage of a much longer process.
